Korean Air has announced a boost to its narrow-bodied fleet with the commitment to a further 20 Airbus A321neo aircraft.
20 additional Airbus A321neos will join the airline fleet in the coming years as it looks to continue with fleet modernisation plans.
Korean Air welcomed its first Airbus A321neo less than a year ago following an existing commitment. The latest 20 additional orders add to the current backlog.
It also brings the total company A321neo orders to 50 units, a sizeable amount indicating the importance placed on the type looking into the future.
The Korean Air Airbus A321neo
Korean Air’s Airbus A321neos are configured in a two-class layout with 182 seats.
The 182 total seats comprise eight in the Prestige class, which offers customers a lie-flat seat. Meanwhile, there are 174 seats in the Economy class.
Currently, the Airbus A321neos are being operated on short to medium-haul routes across China, Japan and Southeast Asia destinations.
It’s believed that this is where the Airbus A321neo can excel, and significant markets remain untapped where these additional units can be activated.
